Our in-the-know Barista has reported that "Monk" star Tony Shaloub has been frequently patronizing the Starbucks on the corner of King & Calhoun of late. No word on whether he was exhibiting symptoms of germaphobia.
Additionally, Michael Flynn, keyboardist and lead singer for local band Slowrunner was seen shopping at the downtown Harris Teeter this very afternoon. Now there's a shock: a 30-year-old guy in a local band does his own grocery shopping. Don't you have staff for this kind of thing, Michael??? Contents of the shopping list are unknown but we hypothesize Funions and Natty Light. Also maybe one of those calzones in the deli section.
You may remember Slowrunner from City Paper's recent "Best Of" issue in which they won "Best Local Keys-Heavy New Album." Way to go guys, that was a tough category!
